Game Introduction: Quake Live is the free-to-play version from the popular classic Quake 3. Re-released as being a browser based FPS with slight graphic and gameplay updates Quake Live is guaranteed to interest any fan of old school FPS mayhem. Most free shooters nowadays tend to get tactical shooters where players are equipped like modern day SWAT squads or soldiers. The weapons are more often than not M16s and AK47s. In Quake Live the situation is very different. You ll be running around futuristic maps constantly hopping in order to avoid rockets . Players can change their avatars at any time because it does not need any effect beyond cosmetics. There are currently five supported games modes and so they are Free for All - A quite typical game mode for casual play. These usually have a very time limit but more often than not end when one player reaches the pre-set point requirement (usually 30.)
Team Death Match - Similar to FFA however the players are split into two teams with victory going towards the team that collectively reaches the predetermined point value first.
Capture The Flag - Two teams ba ttle it out and try to bring the opponent s flag for their base. In dividual players do receive points for fragging but the only strategy to win a match is to capture the flag and score capture points. Whichever team reaches the pre-set score requirement or has one of the most points when time expires may be the winner.
Duel - Single v 1 test of skill. Just two players and one arena. Who ever gets one of the most frags wins.
Clan Arena - Two teams fight out but players do not respawn upon death until the round is over. The last man standing wins the round for his team.
